Well the 2012 season has finally finished, and considering what a wet summer it was, we would just like to congratulate all the clubs and players in the Hot Rackets 2 Pair League for completeing all the matches. This year was a real battle for everyone just to start & finish matches, so well done to everyone for helping create another brilliant year of tennis.
What a fantastic 2012 summer season of tennis & sport it has been, with the London Olympics, Andy Murray winning gold & then his famous first Grand Slam Title in the US Open. Also it was a great year for our girls, Heather Watson & Laura Robson, hopefully British tennis is looking very bright for the future.
To top it all the Hot Rackets 2 Pair Summer League linked with the Herts LTA 3 PAir Summer League, succesfully working side by side to offer all Herts club players the opportunity to participate in 2 & 3 pair Summer Tennis.
Hot Rackets started four years ago with, 9 clubs, 20 teams and 4 divisions. This has now increased to 37 Clubs, 71 Teams and 12 Divisions, for this season, confirming the popularity of the two pair league format in Hertfordshire.
This season was as exciting as ever, with all divisions having 2 or 3 teams 'battling it out' for the top positions, right up to the final matches. There were 36 'Quick Fire' match deciding sets played, which again shows how close the matches were and how well balanced each division is becoming. We again received many messages from players stating how much they have enjoyed the excitement of the 'Quick Fire' Sets.
Congratulations to the Champions and Runners Up (shown above), as these clubs will be promoted where applicable.
Thanks to all the club players who contributed to another fantastic 'Hot Rackets' season, and we look forward to you all playing again next season.
